November 22, 1944

Dear Family and Friends,

I know I haven't written to you guys in a while but I have a good reason. I've been busy preparing for new machine guns and I've been fighting in numerous battles with the opposing force. As you can see, I'm doing quite fine over here in France, which is where I'm fighting from.
To make things better, I have my new friends Ronnie Lopez and James McDonald here with me. They are both very funny and very cool. To add to this, less soldiers are getting injured and killed in battle. Things are finally going great again at the force. Well I gotta go again. Goodbye!

Sincerely,
George Jones

Dear Family and Friends,

The last few days as an German machine gunner in France have been tough for me. It's been nothing but sadness and tragedy here for a while. Its has been some of the roughest days of my life here. I've never seen so much craziness in all of my time.
First of all, its been nothing but rainy days in the past two weeks which really gets on my nerves because i hate when it rains. Secondly, more and more of our soldiers are getting injured in our battles against the opposing force and sadly over 16 of our soldiers have passed away in less than a week. Its surely has been a lot than I've seen through these days. Well, its getting late and I'm tired. See Ya Later, Guys!

Sincerely,
George Jones

Dear Family and Friends,
It's been a few days since I've became a machine gunner in France and I feel like I've seen so much. I've gunned down over 40 soldiers on the opposing force. Over the days there was also over 60 soldiers who were brutally injured and half of them sadly passed away. Its surely been a lot that I've seen.
Luckily, I have my new friends Ronnie Lopez and James McDonald there for me. There both really cool and they are so funny. While it is very challenging and tough, I love the fact that I'm here serving this wonderful country of mine. This is the best thing I've done for myself in years. I think I'll never leave. See Ya later Guys!

Sincerely,
George Jones

George Jones reporting from my battle station

            Dear Family,
Today is my first day as an official soldier and the war that I'm involved in is all the way in France. I am a machine gunner. My job is to use my machine gun to shoot anybody on the opposing force. My job is filled with excitement as well as danger. It is one of the best jobs I've had in my life.
My first battle was pretty intense. Over 500 soldiers are seriously injured and only 12 of them sadly passed away. So far I only made two friends. One of their names is Ronnie Lopez and the other one's name is James McDonald and their really cool people. Well anyway, it's getting late and I've got training at 6 a.m tomorrow. See Ya!
